Located in the so-called “sword of Orion”, M42 is one of the brightest diffuse nebula in the sky. It is observable with the naked eye, although without the aid of devices that magnify the image, it is easily confused with the brightness of the surrounding stars. It is located at a distance from the earth of the order of 1,300 light years, and is one of the most attractive deep-sky objects for astrophotography lovers. This image was taken during various clear nights and processed with DeepSkyStacker, Pixinsight and Photoshop. Unfortunately the WO Flat 6III used did not worked properly and some artifacts can be seen in the image. This flattener was later removed from Takahashi and brought back to WO (Alovera-1B). Now I am waiting for Takahashi proprietary flattener...
